Details about the watch

The Dial

The Dial

The Dial

With the case being already very "dial-focused", removing the numerals from the original designs and focusing the wearer's attention on the intricate stone pattern must be one of the coolest things I've tried. The way that this watch looks is just beyond anything I imagined.

To ensure the durability of the watch, many tests have been carried out. From temperature tests to shock tests, it was important to me that the watch you receive is as perfect as it can be.

Due to the use of natural Lapis Lazuli and Malachite, the pattern on each dial will be completely unique - making each watch a true one of a kind timepiece.

The case

The Dial

The Dial

The case was designed to be as slim and elegant as possible while being able to house a pocket watch sized movement. The design is meant to invoke a style used most widely in the 1930s and 1940s, with a size modified to suit modern styles. It is machined out of 316L surgical stainless steel and features sapphire glass with an anti reflective coating at the front. The traditional, polished finish most typically used in cases of this style has been broken up with high quality brushing on the side of the case. The rear features a display back, allowing the user to view the movement as it is running.

The Straps

The Movement

The Movement

To pair up your watch with the perfect strap, you will be able to choose a strap of your choice from our selection of different colours and different leather types.

The quality does not stop at the leather choices. Rather than using cotton or polyester fibres for the padding, I have decided to pad my straps with genuine leather instead. This makes the padded part of the strap less rigid and therefore more comfortable. It also allows the strap to better mould to the unique shape of your wrist, allowing you to wear the strap much looser than usual, without the watch spinning on your wrist. Every strap will be backed with waterproof Zermatt leather and stitched using the highest quality Coats or Gütermann threads (depending on the colour). The edges of the leather are hand finished and perfectly colour matched.

Every strap comes pre-fitted with a deployant buckle. Once you size your strap, this buckle allows for the extra length to tuck in neatly underneath, meaning that no untidy keepers are necessary and the strap always looks perfectly sized.

The Movement

The Movement

The Movement

Y Derwydd Noeth is powered by the same movement as our original projects, the TY3620-2. The choice of movement was driven by the pocket watch inspiration behind the design of the watch and the movement used in this watch is a version of a movement that has its origins in late pocket watches of the 1950s.

Like in almost all pocket watches, the movement requires no batteries and needs to be manually wound. The watch's spring is designed to last for ~53 hours, after which the watch will need to be wound again.

I work directly with the movement manufacturer to ensure appropriate quality control of the movements and access to all necessary spare parts. Every movement will be inspected adjusted by me after every watch is assembled.
